HISTORIC DOWNTOWN ELKIN
The native grapes of the Yadkin Valley in western North Carolina are the Muscadine and the Scuppernong. Today, the 1.4 million-acre Yadkin Valley, just west of Winston-Salem, is home to exquisite vineyards and wineries. The majority of wineries offer tours and tastings. Each year Elkin, NC is host to the Annual Yadkin Valley Wine Festival in May.
